I am a clinical social worker practising in Richmond Hill, the central area of Port Elizabeth.  I work with individuals, couples, families and companies.

THERAPY

The challenges of life sometimes brings us to a place where we become stuck, unable to manoeuvre ourselves into a freer space with more options, despite our best efforts.  The experience of feeling stuck goes hand in hand with a whole range of difficult emotions such as powerlessness, anger and despondency, being overwhelmed and, often, depression.

Therapy provides a confidential, safe and nurturing space to look at one self and at issues.  It serves as a type of mirror which provides a spectator position onto one’s own life, helping one to make sense of how things fit together.  Within this experience the client and therapist work together to unlock the wisdom and solutions clients carry within them, but cannot claim for various reasons.  Successful therapy leaves one feeling empowered, with a deepened understanding and feeling that one is taking charge of your life, even if ‘taking charge’ means finding a new way of living with that which cannot be changed.

EXECUTIVE COACHING and CONSULTANCY

I offer executive coaching, team development, as well as organizational consultancy to companies and individuals.

The workplace has become an arena where work happens against the background of constant change and economic challenges.  Though each company have very unique characteristics and challenges, organizational issues are all too universal.   Often these issues counterproductively channels energy away from successful adaptation, competence and productivity to concerns such as conflict management, issues of leadership, struggles to match individual and company objectives and generating optimal team functioning.

A systemic, appreciative approach works towards developing a comprehensive, interrelated picture of the whole, whilst claiming and developing inherent but ignored capacity and solutions.
