Who am I?

I am a counselling psychologist registered with the HPCSA and I work with both adolescents and adults. I believe that we derive meaning in our lives from our relational context. Work, marriage, friendships and parenting are all rooted in relationships some way or another. Having said this, we are forced to function in isolation in our own minds. Understanding how and why we function the way we do provides a gateway for us to make a choice. We can choose to function as we always have, but with a better understanding of why, or if we feel that we need to, we can start to make changes. I believe that by understanding ourselves (past and present) and our relational patterns we can become well-balanced individuals with the base to reach our full potential.

What services do I offer?

I offer psychotherapy and counselling support. If you feel you are experiencing any of the following, please feel free to contact me so that we can discuss a possible consultation or referral.

  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Depression
  • Difficulty in Relationships
  • Difficulty transitioning through life stages
  • Divorce
  • Feeling unable to cope
  • Lack of Motivation

Additionally, I offer career assessments. This includes an assessment of personality, ability, work interests and work values which are combined with the individual’s personal history as well as the meaning that they attribute to their work to compile a variety of career options. Career assessments are available for both adolescents and adults and might be useful for the following:

  • Making subject choices for school
  • Deciding on fields for further study or tertiary education
  • Resolving career confusion
  • Deciding on suitability for a current or future career
  • Making career changes
