The scope of the Eye Movement Integration workshops are comprehensive, yet the incremental structure of the workshops facilitates progressive acquisition of competence.

The power of EMI lies in its ability to access the multi-sensory, affective and somatic dimensions of traumatic memories. EMI is an extraordinary direct means of releasing the power of the brain to heal itself.

EMI was developed by Steve and Connirea Andreas (NLP masters) in 1989. With their permission, Danie Beaulieu developed EMI into a comprehensive treatment modality and wrote the first and only book, “Eye Movement Integration therapy, The comprehensive clinical guide” in 2003.

EMI is a neuro-therapeutic modality for accessing and integrating traumatic memories and experiences. EMI is astonishingly rapid in its effects, freeing clients from the burden of unresolved memories of almost any form of trauma – childhood abuse and neglect, rape, attacks, car accidents, medical procedures, natural disasters and combat situations – in just one to six treatment
sessions.

During EMI guided eye movements are used to facilitate access to the fragmented multisensory, affective and somatic dimensions of traumatic memories, without the restraints of the cognitive and verbal modes. These memories are then processed and integrated with new and more positive information. This process together with the discharge of bound energy in the body, brings complete resolution of symptoms.

EMI WORKSHOP INFORMATION

In the Fundamental EMI workshop (20 Hours) the primary emphasis will be on understanding the roots of EMI, areas of application and EMI and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Attention will be given to how humans register trauma, eye movements and the mind, the evaluation of the client, coping strategies and resources of the client, planning the treatment, preparing the client for intervention, exploring traumatic memory networks, utilizing the 22/24 eye movement patterns, concluding EMI and ending the sessions.

Special emphasis will be given to when the treatment seems to fail or when it is too overwhelming. At completion of this workshop professionals will be able to use EMI in their practices.

The format of the workshop entails daily practical exercises under the personal supervision of the presenter. The workshop will include lectures/discussions of the ethical, cultural and legal aspects regarding this intervention strategy. Participants will be evaluated on a live demonstration format, where they will have to demonstrate their competence after this intensive training programme.

To receive an International Certificate and be listed on the International website by Danie Beaulieu, participants will also have to participate in 10 hours of supervision. The supervision can be done personally or by skype. Some of the hours of supervision can also be done as part of a supervision group. Personal sessions may also count towards supervision as well as completing the fundamental training a second time.

More information on the international listing requirements can also be found on Danie Beaulieu’s website.
